What is the Pixel Pump 2?

The Pixel Pump 2 is an open source vacuum-based pick-and-place system for manual SMT assembly. It combines a compact vacuum pump, an intuitive control interface, and desktop software for project and parts management into one coherent workflow.

It’s designed for people who assemble PCBs by hand and want more structure, speed, and consistency - without jumping to large, automated machines. From one-off prototypes to small production runs, Pixel Pump 2 helps you pick and place faster, cleaner, and with fewer mistakes.

The system supports surface-mount components all the way down to 0402 size and includes a full set of vacuum nozzles out of the box.
